ABOUT ME

I have an inherently caring and nurturing disposition. My reflective nature, empathetic and listening capability have led me to become a qualified counsellor.

I hold a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling incorporating Psychodynamic and Person Centred theory. The Integrative approach has given me greater scope to adapt theory most suited to the individual client.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by its codes and ethics.

I have several years practical experience mainly working at Northampton Rape Crisis dealing with a whole host of issues. For the past eight years I have been working privately.

Some of the challenges in life such as bereavement, loss of job, illness, breakdown of relationship, abuse (physical or mental) etc. can be overwhelming and may lead to anxiety, stress, fear, self-harm, low self-esteem, addiction and eating problems but to name a few.

I am passionate about my work in helping you understand and come to terms with internal conflicts and deep-rooted difficulties that have been keeping you stuck.

I aim to make links between past experience(s) where applicable and negative thinking or behaviour patterns in the present.

At the start of therapy experience has often led me to adopt more of a leading style. This seems to be particularly helpful when you are feeling overwhelmed with emotions, feeling disconnected, confused etc.

My overall goal is to help you develop better coping skills to deal with life's ups and downs. Also, to help you learn to live with the things that you cannot change.

I provide a comfortable, secure, private space enabling clients to feel confident and safe enough to talk freely.

I offer face to face, online or telephone therapy.

If you feel that you would like to make that change then please get in touch?
